Simpson County

Simpson County is home to Copiah Lincoln Community College’s Simpson County Center Branch. While Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s presence has been in Simpson County since the 1970s, it moved to its permanent home in the summer of 2005. The 4.17 million dollar structure houses eight general classrooms, three computer labs, two science labs, one medical lab, a spacious library, and a large multipurpose room as well as twenty faculty and administrative offices, a conference room, bookstore, dining area and an admissions/business office suite.

Having enjoyed tremendous growth since opening its doors, the 35,000 square foot facility currently serves over 600 students enrolled in on-ground, online and dual enrollment classes. Co-Lin students range from recent high school graduates, to older students with families, and workers who simply want to update their skills. This variety provides an eclectic mix which makes the Co-Lin experience rewarding and unique.

In addition to a full array of academic programs, Co-Lin also offers a variety of technical programs on the Simpson County Campus including a one year Licensed Practical Nursing program, a two year Business and Office Technology program and a 6 week Truck Driving program. In addition, the Center offers Adult Basic Education classes in preparation for the GED test, as well as personal enrichment courses, such as photography and floral design, and training opportunities for business and industry.
