Simpson County Recreation

Simpson County is unique in its location midway between the Jackson metropolitan area and the Gulf Coast. Although rural in nature, Simpson County residents have access to a wide array of arts, culture, and recreational activities.

If you enjoy attending festivals and special events, Simpson County offers you several including the D’Lo Mardi Gras Festival, D’Lo Motorcycle Rally, the Treat Street YMCA event, annual Christmas parades, and annual arts and crafts shows.

Home for outstanding hunting and fishing opportunities, Simpson County also offers residents sports and recreational opportunities through programs and facilities offered by the Town of Magee, the SportsPlex, Magee City Park, Alice Davis Memorial Park, the YMCA, Simpson County Athletic Center, the D’Lo Water Park, Merit Water Park, Simpson County Motor Sports Park, Twin Lakes Conference Center, and the Simpson County Country Club.

Educational, artistic and cultural activities are available through the Lamplight Theater, Mariposa Arts, the Magee Sinfonia, Artists Mississippi, and the Simpson County Arts Council. Residents have access to two libraries located in the County, and the Copiah-Lincoln Junior College satellite campus.
